About the Incredible Years Teacher Classroom Management Programme

The Incredible Years Teacher Classroom Management Programme (IYT) is part of the Ministry of Education PB4L initiative and is designed primarily for teachers of students from NE-Y4 (5-8yrs).
The IYT course is intended to equip teachers with strategies to reduce challenging behaviours in children and to increase their students’ social and self-management skills.
IYT is available for all schools in the cluster, including those in Rumaki Immersion, Wharekura, Kura and Kohanga Reo settings.
Ideally you should have a minimum of two teachers enrolled from your school for the programme to be most effective.

Time commitment

Six one day sessions held over six months.  Between each session you will be able practice what you have learnt and get feedback from the Group Leader.  Three months after you have completed the programme there is another half day workshop.

Financial supports/cost

MOE will pay your school a teacher reliever fee of $1150 for each teacher so you can be released to complete the six month programme.  Your school would need to fund the follow-up half day workshop

A course workbook will be supplied.  Catering will be provided free of charge.

About the Incredible Years Autism Teacher Programme

The Incredible Years Autism Teacher Programme (IYA-T) is part of the Ministry of Education PB4L initiative and is designed primarily for teachers of students from NE/Y1 (5-6yrs).
The IYT course is intended to equip teachers with strategies to support students with characteristics of Autism or those with a diagnosis of Autism.  It focusses on Language Development, Social Development and Emotion Development.
IYA-T is available for all schools in the cluster, including those in Rumaki Immersion, Wharekura, Kura and Kohanga Reo settings.

Time commitment

Six half day sessions held over a term.  Between each session you will be able practice what you have learnt and get feedback from the Group Leader.  

Financial supports/cost

MOE will pay your school a teacher reliever fee of $900 for each teacher so you can be released to complete the programme.

A course Folder with handouts will be supplied, as well as some teaching resources designed to support the course.  Catering will be provided free of charge.
